ONEHUNGA FAIR.
VERY SUCCESSFUL RESULT, The enthusiarm which has been a pronounced feature of the Onehunga Citizens' Fair was again strongly m evidence on I liursday evening, when about a hundred residents attended a meeting of tlio corninittee. The financial results far exreeded expectations, for after paying the tiebf, of .£2BO upon Iho instruments of the Onehur.ga Citizens' Bund, there was a net balance of £64. With promises in hand it was estimated there would bo no difficulty in making up the £l5O required for the war memorial, which is ■to take the form ol a massive and ornate entrance to Jellicoe Park. Xho meeting requested the committee to remain in being, and sco the scheme brought to a satisfactory conclusion. Arrangements are being mudo to commence the work in a few weeks. The Mayor of Onehuriga, Mr. W. C. Coldicutt, who presided, presented a trav-rlhng-rng to Mr. Duppy, honorary secretary to the committee, in recognTFtoti cf liis work in bringing the lair to a successful issue, 'iho members of the band were in attendance, and the bandmaster, Mr. Bovev, presented a bouquet to the Mayoress, thanking her for her acti\o interest in the band.
