MOUNT ALBERT GRAMMAR. ; EIGHT RECORDS LOWERED. J. GREEN WINS SCHOOL CUP. This annual athletic spoils of the Mount Albert Grammar School were concluded at the Domain yesterday afternoon. There was a large attendance of spectators, including many parents and old boys. All the boats were run on lhursi.lay afternoon, and this left the young sithlctes v fresh for the finals yesterday. There were some keen contests and no fewer than eight records were broken, although the form- in the championship events was not ijuite up to tho standard i,.f some previous years. Tho School Athletic Cup was won hy ,7. Green with 17 points, J. M. Frasor being runner-up. For the junior cup llieie was exceptionally keen competition and R, Burton arid 11- J- Crawford wore bracketed winners with 12 points each. If. S. King was only one point behind. The only championship record to be lowered was in the mile open championship, won by W. A. Briggs in 5m 2 2-ss, lowering the record by 2 2-ss. J. Green won tho 830 yds. open handicap in 2m 11 l-ss, the old record being 2in 15s. The records in both the one milo and two ' miles open bicycle handicaps were loworcd Ly C. H. Maslem, whose times were 5m 44 2-5s and 2m 40 2-5s respectively, while tl:9 existing records were 5m 57 3-5s and 2n 48s. The one mile junior bicycle handicap was won by J. A. Thode in 2m 51 4-ss, clipping 5 2-5s off the record. T. S. Finlavson, in winning tho 880 yds. handicap under 17 in 2m 16 2-ss, lowered the record by 4-ss, and also accounted for the 220 yds. handicap under 17 in the record time of 25 2-ss, tho previous record being 25jS. 0. D- Mills put up a good performance in tho 440 yds. handicap under 17, winning in 58 3-ss, to clip 3s off the previous record. Results are as follows
