SPYING FOR RUSSIA.
TRIAL OF FRENCH TRAITORS. STRONG COMMENT BY JUDGE. r (Received March To, 10.45 p.m.) A. and N.Z.-Sun. PARIS, March 15. " This trial once more reveals an audacious anti-French espionage plan conceived by the Third (Communist) International at Moscow, and proves that the national defence of France is placed in very great peril," declared the Judge at the conclusion of a secret trial. The accused were 13 persons, including a member of the City Council, a former employee of the Rsivenue Department and a nnmber of French soldiers. They were charged with supplying military information to Soviet agents. Sentences were passed ranging from five years' to six months' imprisonment. Mdlle. Louise Clarac, secretary to v the Paris Communists, was sentenced in her absence to five years in gaol.
