DIPLOMATIC SERVICE.
TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS.
(British Official Wireless.) (Received March 14, 5.45 p.m.) A. and N.Z. RUGBY, March 13. His Majesty the King has approved the appointment of Earl Granville Envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary at The Hague, as Ambassador and Plenipotentiary at Brussels, and Envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary at Luxembourg. The King has also the appointment of Sir Thomas B. Holder, lately Envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary at Santiago, Chile, to be Envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary at Copenhagen.
Earl Granville was born in 1872, and educated at Eton. Ho entered the diplomatic service in 1893 and served at Berlin, Cairo, Vienna and The Hague. He was a Lord-in-Waiting from 1905 to 1915. His last appointments have been: Minister at Athens, 1917-21 and at Copenhagen 1921-26, from whofo ho went to The Hague. Sir Thomas Beaumont Hohler was born in 1872. He was educated a 6 Eton and Cambridge University, and joined the diplomatic* service in 1894. He has served at Constantinople, Cairo, Petrograd, Tokio, Adis Ababa, Mexico, and Washington. He was sent to Buda Pest as High Commissioner in 1920, and was Minister there 1921-24. In the latter year he was sent to Mexico on a special mission.
