INDUSTRIAL BRITAIN.
BENEFITS FROM FAIR. INCREASED TRADE EXPECTED. (British Official Wireless.) (Received March 6. 6.9 p.m.) A. and CN.Z. RUGBY, March 5. Tho Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department, Captain Douglas Hacking, in a further reference to-day to the British Industries Fair, said the results this year in London and in Birmingham had been eminently satisfactory. There were 256,000 square feet of exhibition space in London and 180,000 square feet in Birmingham. Both figures beat the previous records and represented a total increase of 130,000 square feet over last year. The attendances were also records. The London total was 103,586 and the Birmingham total 103.000. The fair had been of real practical benefit to all sections of British industry, said Captain Hacking, and he was satisfied it would lead to an increase in business. Asked if he would consider whether the fair could not be put on a more peimaneut footing and be held for a longer period, Captain Hacking replied that this ■was being considered.,
