fpTTORIA CLUB'S MEETING. j AUSTRALIAN CUP DAY. r "VICTORY FOR SEA MONEY. • (Received March 6, 11.5 p.m.) and N.Z. MELBOURNE, March 6. Fine, warm weather prevailed for the Victoria Racing Club's racer, to-day. A few New Zealanders were present. Cobranveil was scratched for the cup S'Ufct 12.45 p.m. Bonny led all the way. in the Hopeful Stakes and won comfortably. She cost 120gns. as a yearling. She has now recorded two wins and one second in three jtarts. Her time equalled Ranipion's, and jg a course record. Impartial was fourth early and led into *he. straight in the Elms Hand-cap and von nicely. He was raced by Textile's part-owner. Mr. C. C. Brown. Matang led throughout the March Steeplechase and won nicely. The rider <Tagell) won the National Hurdles on Coybeau. Sea Money was third early in the Australian Cup, and won nicely. Frilford finished strongly and Kingun surprised everyone. Sea Money'it owner (Mr. T. Davies) raced the hurdler Pildin. Both are gained by Mr. G. Murrell. This is Sea honey's most important win to date. ' Herat was always prominent and naraowly beat the fast-finishing Lowfield in the Nursery Handicap. Merat is owned .*nd trained at Adelaide, and was ridden by Dempsey. Thracian Belle was fourth early in the Jkmrke Handicap, but, finishing fast, won easily. She is owned and trained at Adelaide and was ridden by B. Percival. Following are the results: —

Eleven starters. Tordilla and Kingun made the running. Sea Money took charge two furlongs from the post and won by half a length. Kingun was a length and three-quarters away. Imitator was fourth, and tnen came Spear Maiden. The sec•tiwis.l times in the Cup were:—First six furlongs, lm 191s; last six furlongs, lm 15Js: concluding mile, lm 41s. J. O'Brien, rider of Sea Money in the Cup, stated that the home was always going veil. O'Brien is only 18 years old, and has lidden 21 winners to date.
