OBITUARY.
EARL OF WARWICK. AN ADVENTUROUS CAREER. (British Official Wireless.) A. and N.Z. RUGBY, Jan. 31. The Earl of Warwick died to-day at the ago of 45 years. He had an adventurous career. When only 17 years old (he was then Lord Brooke) he ran away from home and enlisted as a private in the Army for service in the South African War. He was granted a commission, and fought at Diamond Hiil and in other engagements. Eventually he became aiderde-camp to Lord Milne. In the Russo-Japanese War the Earl had thrilling experiences as a special correspondent, with the Russian Army. At the outbreak of the Great War he was appointed aide-de-camp to Sir John French, and subsequently commanded the Fourth Canadian Infantry Brigade.
