GOVERNMENT IN BUSINESS.
Sir, —As time goes on, more and more should be left to the wit, ingenuity and industry of individual men and women and less and less undertaken by the State.' Tho reason behind this principle is that the grand purpose of evolution is the expansion and development of the individual Man-made laws which tend to restrict this purpose are only hampering the natural onward flow, and thus we gaze perplexedly on our growing troubles and wonder whence they spring. Wo inquire into this and that, and sift evidence while the fact remains that nature can get along quite nicely without the State's assistance. Too much State "assistance" is in reality only a hampering; it is postponing the development of those qualities in the individual which, in their cumulative effect, are the real force that will pull the whole country forward. If Che Government will only give official recognition to this great principle, and put it into practice it will render to this country a great and lasting service. The New Oiider.
