SUPREME COURT.
THE CRIMINAL SESSIONS. MANY CASES FOR TRIAL. SITTINGS OPEN NEXT MONDAY. The quarterly criminal sessions of the Supreme Court in Auckland will open on Monday, February 6, when prisoners for sentence will be dealt with. The cases for trial, r)f which so far there are 17, will be begun on the following day. The most serious charge is one of attempted murder. There are also several burglary charges, one of bookmaking, and an unusual number of cases alleging sexual offences. Mr. Justice Reed and Mr. Justice Blair will conduct the sessions. The following are the names of the accused persons and the charges against them:— Leslie Bertram Dawson, indecent assault, Auckland. Harry Marks, bookmaking, Auckland. John Charles Kempthorne, indecent assault ind attempted carnal knowledge, Auckland. Thomas Donovan, indecent assault on male, Auckland. William Henry Swift Par ton, breaking, entering and theft, Auckland. Arthur Edward Hill, breaking, entering and theft, Auckland. Boe Griffiths, alias Ray, alias Reid, theft from person, Auckland. John Edwin Robinson, attempted carnal knowledge, Auckland. William Henry Grant, assault, causing actual bodily harm, Auckland. Harry Collins, Patrick Kelly and William Martin, breaking, entering and theft., Auckland. Ivy Hazel Kite, alias Ross, breaking, entering and theft, Auckland. Emil Blaauw, indecent assault and indecent act, Auckland. Lawrenco Mackenzie, causing grievous bodily harm, and attempted murder, Auckland. Stanley Uren ThomaS, theft, Auckland. Edward James Euesden, theft, Auckland. Robert Wvnyard, unnatural offence. Arthur Henry Martin, indecent assault on male.
