RECOVERY OF BODY.

DROWNING AT PORTLAND. The Auckland police havo received advice that the body of Mr. Giles, who was drowned at Portland, Whangares., last Thursday, has been recovered. Deceased was assisting in loading a vessel at the wharf when he fell into the water, and he was not seen again. The police are endeavouring to get into touch with deceased's relatives, who are believed tobe in Auckland.
