FIRE IN BOOT SHOP.

BRIGADE'S TIMELY SAVE. • Shortly after midnight tin outbreak of fire was discovered at the "Factory to jYou" boot shop,-164, Karangahape Road. A passing pedestrian gave the alarm in 'good time bub before the brigade arrived the two floors of the wooden premises ,wero obscured by heavy smoke. The fire, which originated at the foot of a staircase leading to two® workrooms above, was easily controlled, however, but not before the ceiling ■of the shop and the walls in one corner had been blistered and slightly charred. Slight damage was done upstairs. The stock ■was practically untouched by the flames although it suffered from the effects of smoke and water.
