MISHAPS ON WHARVES.

TWO WORKMEN INJURED. Two waterside workers were injured in accidents on the wharves yesterday. Alfred Evans, married, aged 56, of 88, Union Street, City, was struck by a coal basket while unloading coal from the Kaimanawa at Western Wharf. He fell between two coal trucks and sustained fractures of several ribs. He was conveyed to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. Injury to the back was sustained by a young man named Siddons, who resides at 145, Wellesley Street, when he was struck by a bale of wool which he was engaged in loading on to the Kartigi at Prince's Wharf. He was taken to the hospital by the St. John Ambulance and wat later allowed to go home.
