A very enjoyable cricket match was played at Victoria Park yesterday between teams representing the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company and the Herald editorial, literary and news statfa The game resulted in a win lor the Heuald by seven wickets In its first '"nnings the Gilbert and Sullivan Company made 82 'Ryan 28 Tapley 17, Turner It). Bowling for Hekald L. Guiney took six wickets for 31 runs and C. E. Guiney four for 49. Hebalw replied with 101 (L. Guiney 26, C. E. Guiney 25, C. S. Tendall 19, G. Blyth, 13). Bowling for the Opera Company. Fairfax took one wicket for 21, Shaw two for 26, Taploy three for 7, Ryan two for 7, Manning two for 5. The Opera Company scored 124 for four wickets in its second "innings (Ryan 44, Manning 37, Gordon 23, Shaw 10) and then declared. L. Guiney took three wickets for 47 for Hepai.d. who won the match, outright by scoring 113 for three wickets in its second innings (C. E. Guiney 43 not out. F. Rout 39. L. Guiney 20). For the Opera Company Tapley took two wickets for 36 and Fairfax one for 9.
