OPERATIC SOCIETY.
FINAL DANCE OF THE YEAR, The Auckland Amateur Operatic Society, held its final dance of the year in the so. ciety'ji hall in Grafton Road last evening. There was a good attendance of members and friends, and the evening passed off very successfully. A pleasing feature was a presentation made to Miss Jean Macindop and the members of her band. Mr. R. Gieson, social secretary, who made the presentation on behalf of the society, thanked Miss Macindoe and her colleagues for the assistance they had given daring the last two seasons. Among those present were: Mrs. Hunt, wearing a frock of tangerine georgette and silver lace; Mrs. W. Carson, frock of lilac beaded georgette; Mrs. Bartieet, mauve georgette; Mrs. College, wistaria taffeta and gold lace; Mrs. C. Prime, apricot georgette; Mrs. Sawyeir, midnight blue panne veh'et; Sister Hovey, black beaded crepe faille; Miss Fowler, dove grey lace and red velvet sash; Miss I. Tanner, frock of cloth-of-gold with gold lace panels and red shoulder posy, Miss J. Carson, frock of black sequinned georgette ; Miss Stares, hyacinth georgette heavily sequinned; Miss L. Taylor, Nile green taffeta ; Miss D'Authreau, gold laca and red sash.
