OVERSEAS SPORT.
WARATAHS DEFEAT LLANELLY TRIBUTE BY WELSH UNION. (Received November 30, 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. LONDON, Nov. 29. The New South Wales Rugby team defeated Llanelly by 24 poiuts to 14. After gaining a lead of six points after half aa hour's play the Waratahs failed to hold Llanelly, and were three points behind at half-time. On tlio resumption of play Llanelly went further ahead, scoring two tries, 'which were converted, m rapid succession The Waratahs then made a breach in the Llanelly defence and scored 18 points in a wonderful final rally. The Welsh Rugby Union gave a dinner in honour of the Waratahs this evening. The president, Mr. Horace Lyne, said; "You have taken it out of as more than any other colonial side and your football is played m the spirit of our great public, schools." Mr. Shaw, responding, suggested that a team visit Australia in 1950 and Mr. Lyne said he would do all in his power to influence the International Bo?ird in that direction. NEW ZEALAND SWIMMER. KRONFELD IN SYDNEY. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, Nov. 30. Mr. L. Kronfeld, the New Zealand swimmer, was a passenger by the steamer Maunganui when it anrived at Sydney. He will settle in where he intends to resume swimming. SYDNEY STADIUM BOXING, MAIN BOUTS ON MONDAYS. (Received November 30, 10.85 p.m.) A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. Nov. 30. The management of the Sydney Stadium has decided to make a fin the r change, and will in future hold the main boxing bouts on Mondays instead of on Fridays.
