TEACHING AGRICULTURE.
QUESTION OF CONTROL. A memorandum regretting that it was again necessary to express dissatisfaction with the manner in which itineraries of seme of the agricultural instructors are being arranged has been received by the Auckland Education Board from the Education Department. The memorandum added that it was desired that the senior inspector should confer with the board and its officials and subsequently make such recommendations to the department as were considered necessary to secure greater efficiency. Letters were also received from the Hawke's Bay, Otago, Taranaki and. Wellington boards supporting the Auckland IMird's protest against the recommendation of the General Council of Education that ' the control of agricultural instructors should be transferred from the boards to the department.
