Nov. 18, Wind and rain storms have taken toll of 13 lives throughout the United States and have caused enormous damage to property. The tornado which struck Washington also swept Maryland and Virginia. The mid-West areas are in the grip of a cold wave. Three persons were killed in Chicago in accidents duo to slippery pavements. The air mail service from Chicago to the West is interrupted, Vermont is facing the danger of additional floods. Rain and snow have seriously interfered with the work of rehabilitation after the previous storm. Numerous villages and small towns are under water.
