MOTORS AND RAILWAYS.
HOME LINES HANDICAPPED. FURTHER POWERS SOUGHT. (British Official Wireless.) A. and N.Z. RUGBY, Nov. 18. The five big groups of British railways have announced their intention of applying to Parliament for full powers to engage in motor transport by road. This is an important development, as the railways have hitherto lacked legal power, except in special cases, to meet the keen competition which they are experiencing from motor road transport.
