The best shooting of the season was r»« corded at this afternoon's shoot of tha Thames Rod and Guc Club, lies were numerous, the shoot-off several times goinK to the fifteenth or sixteenth bird. In tho fifth event six members shot tho possible with consecutive kills on the first barrel, the shoot-off going to the seventeenth bird before Dr. J. B. Liggins was declared tha winner. G. Shaw was also in excellent form. Results are:— No. 1 Sweepstake, 6 birds.—G. Shaw, 1; a. Thompson, E. Thornton, S. Miller and S. Sparks (equal), 2. No 2 Sweepstake. 7 biida.—S. Sparks, ix. Shaw, S. Miller shot the Possible. The shoot-off resulted: Miller, 1; Sparks and Shaw (equal), 2. ■ Gimcrack Sweepstake, 7 .birds.— G. Shaw. 1; A. Brien, Dr. J. B. Liggms and E. ThorntoNo 4 U Sweepstake, 8 birds.—Miller, Sparky and Dr. Liggins shot the possible, and tho shoot-off resulted in that order. Gimcrack Sweepstake, 7 birds.--Seven members shot the poissible. [BX TELEGEAPH.-^— OWN COEEESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE, Saturday. The Pukekbhe Gun Club's opening claybird shoot of the season was held this afternoon. There was a good attendance and some good shooting was witnessed. In a 10-bird shoot for a trophy donated by Messrs. C. McCormick and W. Massey, E. Sim and J. Wright both secured nine birds, and in the shoot-off Sirii wo!n on the eleventh bird. Five bird matches resulted as fol10No~l.—C. McCormick, R. Sim, J. Wright and W.
