AMBULANCE COMPETITION.

THE ST. JOHN BRIGADE. The St. John Ambulance Brigade held the annual competition for the E. Jones Ambulance Shield, presented by Mr. Ernest Jones, of Karangahape Road, on Wednesday evoning in the Ambulance Station, Rutland Street. Six squads took part in the contest, which is open for competition by divisions of the Auckland corps. The possible for the three events was 150 and results were as follows: B Squad, Auckland division, 134 points, 1; C Squad, National Reserve Division, 123 points, 2; E Squad, National Reserve Division, 121 points, 3. The judges were Dr. VV. H. Parkes, Dr. A. E. Moore, and Dr. C. Tewsley. After the competition, Dr. Parkes briefly addressed the teams, giving some useful information on ambulance work in general, and Mr. F. J. Hutchinson, senior district superintendent, commented on the rapid growth of the brigade in country districts.
