EMPIRE SOLDIERS.
ARMISTICE DAY FESTIVAL.
PRINCE TO SPEAK IN LONDON.
A. and N. 55. LONDON. Oct. 81. The first broadcast to the Empire through the British Broadcasting Corporation's short-wave station at Chelmsford will be of the Festival of Remembrance at the Albert Hall, between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. in the evening of Armistice Day, when the Prince of Wales will address 10,000 ex-servicemen. For the first time in history the Dominions and the colonies will then have an opportunity of sharing in London's commemoration of the armistice bv an audible link. In view of the success of Mr. Gerald Marcuse's transmissions to Australia and of station 2FC's broadcasts to Britain, there seems every reason to believe that the broadcast from SS\V» will be received throughout the Empire. The Chelmsford station will use a 24metre wave-length, and a power of 20 kilowatts, to give a chance for a reception all over the world.
DAY OF REMEMBRANCE. DEBT TO UNPLACED HEROES. i (Received November 1, 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. LONDON, Oct. 31. The ob ject of the Remembrance Festival is to link up the ex-soldiers scattered throughout the Empire upon the imperishable anniversary, to help to renew wartime comradeship and to remind the Empire that it has not paid its debt to those heroes who are still unplaced in civil life.
