OLD COUPLE AT COURT.
MAINTENANCE FOR HUSBAND. THE APPLICATION DISMISSED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. J HAMILTON. Friday i'wo elderly Cambridge residents, a man and his wife, who were 83 and 70 years of age respectively, were the parties in a maintenance case in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court to-day. , Both were old age pensioners, but the wife received less than her husband on account of a small cottage she owned. The husband is an inmate of the old men's home, but he did not like it, and, thinking that his wife was in a better position than he was, he sued her for maintenance. Defendant, who suffered from rheuma tisin, said site had no income apart from her pension and a few shillings a relative allowed her. The magistrate, Mr. Wyve.-n Wilson, expressed sympathy with defendant, and said she should not have been brought to the Court. The application was dismissed.
