MAORI RUGBY PLAYERS.
THE SOUTH AFRICAN BAN. The exclusion of Maori players from the All Black team for South Africa has caused keen disappointment among the younger Maoris in Auckland. At a meeting of the Akarana Maori Association on Wednesday the following motion was passed:— "This association regrets that, in order to defer to South African opinion, the New Zealand Rugby Union has decided to ignore Maori manhood in the selection of a New Zealand representative team, and feels that this' decision is a slur on the dignity and manhood of the Maori. It would have been more atuag for the union to have declined to forward a team not truly representative ol New Z* aland as a united Maori-European people." It was decided that a copy cf the resolution should be sent to tne New Zealand Rugby Union
