COLLEGE OF SURGEONS.
CANBERRA HEADQUARTERS. Probably another of Canberra's national institutions will be the headquarters of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, inaugurated recently at the medical congress at Dunedin. It will be situated at Acton, near- the site of the proposed university. Sir George Syme, president, Dr. A. L. Kenny, secretary, and Dr. Devine, all of Mel bourne, inspected a *ite at Acton recently, and talked, with Sir John Butters about the proposal. Though it will share interests with the university, since it aims at improving the standard of surgery in Australia," the college will function by itself. Constituted on principles embodied in the American College of Surgery, the institution will confer degrees and seek generally to reassure the public by improving methods and setting a hali-mark upon men of skill.
