CRUISER LONDON.

LAUNCHING AT PORTSMOUTH FAMOUS NAME PRESERVED. (Britinh Ofiicial Wireless.) A. and N.'Z. RUGBY. Sept. 14. The cruiser London was launched to-day at Portsmouth. Tho Lady Mayoress -of London, Lady Blades, appropriately performed the christening ceremony. The London, which is of 10,000 tons, is the first of the four cruisers of the 1925 programme. She was designed by Sir William Berry, the Director of Naval Construction, and is the first ship of her special type. The name London has been perpetuated in the history of the British Navy. The new warship is the eighth of the line.
