CONSPIRACY CHARGE.
INDIAN RULER DUPED. PROCEEDINGS WITHDRAWN. A. and N.Z.-Suft. LONDON. Sept. U. With the assent of the Public Pronator the magistrate at Bo* Street sanctioned the withdrawal of five warrants in the case concerning Sir Han Singh, referred 'o as " Mr. A." against Captain Arthur on charges of conspiracy and receiving stolen cheques to the value of £350.000.
Counsel for Arthur said his client had already served a sentence i;n France, so it was difficult to prosecute here in face of the principle that a person could cot be punished twice for the same cffencs.
