RETURNING FROM FUNERAL.

An elderly married man, Mr. Charles Murray, was killed while returning to Waikartmoana in a motor-truck from a funeral at Wairoa yesterday.
The truck somersaulted several times down a bank, Mr. Murray"# cheat wu crushed, and he was killed instantly. Other occupants of the track fortunately escaped with minor cuts and bruises.

The driver of one of the Ohinemuri County Council trucks had a narrow escape from serious injury this morning, lie was driving the truck along the Thames I'aeroa Road near Hikutaia, when it ran over * hank at th« side into a fmall creek. The truck, which was loaded with metal, was turned completely over, and stopped with the wheels in the air. The cab was completely wrecked, but the driver escaped injury.
