HAURAKI GULF FISHING.
SCHNAPPER NOW PLENTIFUL. GOOD CATCHES BEING MADE. [by telegraph.— own correspondent. J THAMES. Tbvsrsda-y After a slack winter season Thames fishermen are making good hauls of schnapper in the Haaraki Gulf. Catches of 100 dozen are now the rule rather than the exception for local boats, and at least one concern has limited the number of its boats going to sea because the quantity of fish caught could not bo marketed. Flounders are now being located in- fair numbers, and the prospects for a ituccessful season are favourable.
