DANNEYIEKE HUNT. '.INTERESTING DAY'S SPORT. (ONLY ONE OUTSIDER SCORES. DEAD HEAT IN LAST EVENT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PALMERSTON NORTH. Thursday. The Dannevirko Hunt Club's Meeting was held to-day in fine weather. The racing was fairly interesting- There was a long ■inquiry' after the lest race, but it was decided to let the judge's placing stand. In the Asncott Hunters' Hurdles Ballyfaraon, Calluna ard Musical • were evenly backed Panchito. Musical. Ballyfarnon, Calluna and Scornful, at intervals, was the order for a mile. Musical hit hard at both fences in the back straight, and racing for tha turn Ballyfarnon took charge from Panchito and Musical, with the other pair well back. Ballyfarnon went on and won by ten lengths from Panchito, with Musical two lengths away third. Calluna was next. For the Oringi Back Hurdles Red FucnEia wound up a £IOO better favourite than Mountain Top, the former being at odds-on. Red Fuchsia, Revel and Braeman began best, but at the first fence Arataura was up with the leaders. He fell heavily ar.d broke his neck. Red Fuchsia led past the stands from Rakauponga. Mountain Top arid Revel, with Brr-man last. Mountain Top was in charge (....sing the six furlong post, but Red Fuchsia and Revel closed on hira going to the turn, the other two being tailed off. Red Fuchsia held off Mountain Top in the run-in, and won by half alength. Revel was two lengths away third, with -Rakauponga and Braeman well back. Excess Wins By a Head. The Takapau Novice Stakes saw the Ex cess Moretize bracket backed down to oddson, with Borseline the only other supported. Another bad start saw Air Force, Heather Blend arid Degree left, while Excess and Hodren led out from Kindle, Moretize, Fallow and Borseline. Hodren, FiXcess and Kindle led Borseline and Moretize at the turn, with Ring Boy showing up wide out. Excess, ridden out, stuck to his work and beat Kindle home by a head. Ring Boy v.-as two lengths away third, with Borseline, Hodren and Fallow following in that order. In the Hunt Club Steeplechase. Banjuka was a pronounced favourite, with anything else at a good price. Panchito led for th& most of the way, with Lightmore, Frisco Jack, Birkenose and Banjuke most prominent of the others. Handy lost his rider at the third fence, and Formhead and Timipouri were pulled up. Frisco Jack went after Panchito half a-mile from home, and taking charge at the last fence won easily by 12 lengths from Panchito. Risk was 12 lengths away third, iust ahead of Banjuke, Peep o' Day and Lightmore. Birkenose and Buckeye also finished. t *ie race was run at a very fast pace and this settled Banjuke with his weight of 12st. In the Rakaiatai Flat Handicap Star- ' board Light, Royal Damon, Willow Wai and Beaumont were well backed. Lady - Ideal began best, but Willow Wai took charge at the end of a furlong. Willow Wai and Lipsol led Royal Damon, Beaumont, Starboard Light and Epistle at the turn, bu tin tho run-in Royal Damon drew out. to beat Willow Wai by two lengtiiß. Starboard Light was a length away third and Lipsol. Epistle. Othon and Passionate finished in that order. Royal Damon showed great improvement. Imitation Scores.

In the Ke-kahukura Hack Handicap Arch Arrow and Imitation earned the bulk ot the money, with fair support for lanagra, Rosebush and Abisogne. Rosebush begun best from Imitation, Abisogne, Arch Arrow and Chips, with Fee Simple last. Arch Arrow followed Rosebusn to the turn, with Imitation, Abisogne, Tanagra and Ohips handy. When straightened up Rosebush, Arch Arrow, Imitation, Tanagra and Abisogne were in a bunch, but half-way down tho straight Imitation and Abisogne drew out. Imitation beating Abisogne by a head. Rosebush was two lengths awav thud, and then came Tanagra, Fee Simple and Arch

For "the Akitio Ladies' Bracelet Lady Faye, with Mr. J. Morris up, was a pronounced favourite. She led Gordon Swift and Tintoretto to the turn, with the otbe.. pair handy. Lady Faye held her own easily m front, to win by a length from Imtoretto, who beat Gordon Swift by two lengths. Musical, who was lame after the race, was fourth. For the Kaitoke Hack Handicap Atareria was very little better backed than Watchman, with good support for Butte: Ecoch and Cerf. Watchman led out from * anaBra, Atareria, Debate and Calithe. bo they raced for three furlongs, where Atareria was interfered with and sent right back. Watchman, Debate, Tanagra, Calithe. Toka and Cerf was the order at the turn. Watchman held his own in the lead until Tanagra and Cerf joined in 50yds, rr°m the post. Cerf and Watchman were declared a dead heat for first place, with lanar.ra third and Toka. Calithe and Atareria following in that order.
