REVIVAL EFFORT FAILS. DECISION OF THE COMPANY. No success has attended the effort to revive the boat service to St. Heliers Bay. The Tamaki Road Board recently made representations in the matter, and the City Council gave its support, tn a letter to the City Council last evening, however, the manager of the Devonport Steam Ferry Company, Limited, elated thai his directors coaid not see their way to give favourable consideration to the proposal, as a convenient ferry service could not be run except %t a substantia! loss. Past experience had shown that the majority of the residents preferred to travel by bo*, and two efforts to revive the ferry service were unwillingly abandoned owing to the poor patronage.
