LOST OVERBOARD.

FATE OF CHIEF STEWARD. ** . ; v.: OFFICER OF TREWORLAS. DROWNED DURING VOYAGE. The chief steward of the steamer Treworlas, Mr. W. Morgan, was lost overboard in the Pacific 500 miles from Panama. The steamer reached Auckland from New York yesterday afternoon. According to the officers, Mr. Morgan was observed to clamber on to the bulwarks about six o'clock in tho evening, and before he could be prevented he fell into the sea. The steamer was immediately rounded-to, and a boat was launched, but although a search was made for nearly two hours he was not seen again. Mr. Morgan was a married man, 43 years of age, and his home was in Cardiff. He leaves a widow and one child.
