BANNED FROM AUSTRALIA.
NEW GUINEA NATIVES. UNSETTLED BY TRAVEL. [from ctjr own correspondent. ] SYDNEY. Sept. 2. Travel is found to unsettle the natives of the mandated territory of New Guinea, and in consequences the Australian Government has ordered that they must not be brought to Australia without special permission. White residents in territories like Papua often bring native servants on their holiday trips to Australia. When they return, the natives are irclined to put on airs among their less-travelled fellows. They see white men in Australia doing jobs that are done only by natives in their own land, and the contrast leads to the native adopting an undesirable attitude toward white men and women. The spread of such a tendency would menace the magistrate's authority.
