MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. ST. GEORGE TEAM'S VISIT. OTHER INVITATIONS ISSUED. The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League mot lust evening. Mr. ft. Rhodes presided. A cablegram was received from the St. George Club, Sydney, stating that it was abandoning its tour of Now Zealand. The secretary, Mr. Culpan, reported tli'nt lie had asked the St. Oeoigo Club what guarantee was wanted to play in Auckland. Mr. W. J. Davidson asked if there was any limit to the amount of money that would be offered to induce the St. George Club to come here. The chairman said he personally would not be in favour of increasing the amount of £4OO already guaranteed. On the recommendation of the Advisory Committee it was resolved to await a reply to a message from Auckland requesting the St. George Club to give the matter further consideration The New Zealand .League advised that the North v. South Island match would be played in Auckland on September 21 Mr. W J. Davidson was appointed to represent the Auckland League, in conjunction with the South Auckland and Wellington representatives, in selecting the North Island team. It was agreed to extend ah invitation to tiie Buller League, whose team has been successful against Canterbury and West Coast, to play a game against the Auckland representatives, should the St. George team not pay its visit. A similai decision was arrived at in the case of South Auckland's request, for a game against Auckland for the Northern Union Cup. Mr. C. Adamson reported that the junior representative team had a successful trip to Rotorua, and that a splendid exhibition of the code was given. MATCHES FOR SATURDAY.
