MRS. PERCY HUNTER. (Received September 7, 12.50 a.m.) A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, Sept. 6. Tho death has occurred of Mrs. Percy Hunter, the wifo of the managing director of the Pacific Cable Board. Sho was formerly Miss Blair and was well known in and journalistic circles. MSL WAYNE WHEELER. (Received September 6. 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z.-Sun. NEW YORK, Sept. 5. The death has occurred at Battle Creek, M ichigan, of Mr. Wayne Bidwell Wheeler, who was counsel for the Anti-Saloon League of America, aged 58. Mr. Wayne Bidwell Wheeler had been closely identified with temperance work in America for many years, and had been superintendent of the Ohio Anti-Saloon League before becoming general counsel and legislative superintendent of the national organisation. Ho was a lawyer by profession. He was born in Ohio in 1869, and studied at Oberlin University. GENERAL T. W. DOWDING. A, and N.Z. LONDON, Sept. 5. The death has occurred of General Townlcy Ward Dowding, aged 80. General Townley Ward Dowding was born <in 1847. He entered the Royal Marines in 1865; was colonel in 1899, arid general in 1910. He retired in 1912. * For some years he was Inspector of Marine Recruiting, and he served in the South African War in 1877-79. He married in 1886 Miss Florence Mary Lamb, of Syd» pejs.i
