SYDNEY CATHEDRAL.
NEW SITE FOR S.T. ANDREW'S. * AGREEMENT WITH GOVERNMENT. A. and N.Z SYDNEY. Sept. 5. After long negotiations the transfer of St. Andrew's, the historic Anglican Cathedral, from George Street to a site in Macquarie Street, now occupied by the Mint and the District Court, now seems to bo assured. Tho Government has signed an agreement with the church authorities regarding the transfer. In addition to giving the new site the Government will pay to the cathedral authorities £500,000 as compensation.
