COURSE FOR NURSES.
HEALTH DEPARTMENT PLAN.
A refresher course for trained nurses is at present being conducted in Auckland by the Health Department. This is the first course of its kind to be held here, and it is the intention of the department to make it an annual fixture. Lectures on public health matters, including housing problems, rural sanitation and the treatment of certain classes of social diseases, are given daily by experienced doctors and senior nurses. The lecfures embrace both the practical and theoretical problems of public health. In the opinion of Dr. H. Chesson, medical officer of health, the course should prove of inestimable benefit in acquainting nurses with various aspects of public health work.
