NEW ZEALANDERS AT HOME
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] LONDON, July 30. Mr. J. W. De Luen (Auckland) has been to Edinburgh and Dundee, and he expects shortly to conclude his business in London. Before returning to New Zealand he will spend a couple of weeks on the Continent. Mr. Neil P. Angus, of the engineering staff of the Auckland Harbour Board, has recently made a tour of the Southern Counties and of the Severn Ports. He lias returned to London after a month's tour of the Continent. He is at present visitin/; the Midlands and Scotland, inspecting engineering and industrial plants and visiting tho principal ports. On September 15 he will sail for New Zealand via Suez. The Rev. J. Milne will attend the Conference of Faith and Order at Lausanne at the beginning of August as one of New. Zealand's representatives. He has booked his return passage by the Otranto, leaving on September 17. Mr T. B. Howarth (Auckland) is visiting his son, and he will probably remain for a considerable time. At the end of September a tour will be made of Scotland Mr. W Cecil Levs (Auckland), has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Colonial Institute. Mr. T. W. Jones (Mount Eden) died at the residence of his nephew, Mr. R. W Jones, of Wanstead, a few days ago. The late Mr Jones, who was on a visit to England, intended spending some time at Bournemouth, but he had a seizure, to which he succumbed. Mr. Clarence Elliott, who is well-known in horticultural circles in the Mother Country, and who is a member of the Floral Committee and the Shows Committee of the Royal Horticultural Society, will leave at the beginning of August, for a six months' plant collecting expedition in the Chilean Andes, Juan Fernandez, the Straits of Magellan, and the Falkland Islands Until the of this expedition. Mr Elliott will not bo able to make definite arrangements about his New Zealand tour,' but it is his intention to go on there and collect plants for cultivation in the Mother Country, especially alpine plants. The Rev S. J. S. Groves, M.A., lately curate of St Mark's, Wellington, has been appointed vicar of Wheatley, Oxfordshire.
