OTA GO DEFEATS WELLINGTON. . [by telegbaph.—press association.] WELLINGTON. Sunday. In a match for the football Association trophy yesterday Otago, 4 goals, defeated Wellington. 2. Otago's combination was decidedly superior and the win was well deserved. Otago kicked off, and the ball went out to Simmonds, who centred. Tarrant saving. Another centre from Simmonds was headed over the bar by Hooper. Anton, the Wellington centre, swung the bail across to Ballard, who allot, McQuarrie coming out of his goal to save. Wellington attacked strongly, and McQuarrie was caught with the bail in his hands. Several Wellington forwards bustled the goal-keeper, who just managed to sqve. Otago scored first. Otago. 1; Wellington, 0. Otago lorced a corner after this, and Simmonds dropped a beautiful kick, which McGormack drove into the net. Otago, 2; Wellington, 0. Hislop and Kay (Thistle), Chalmers (South Auckland). The sole selector, Mr. A. P. Nepsham, requests the above-mentioned players to assemble at Blandford Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30.
