FAVOURITE FLOWER.

Sun. LONDON, Aug. 16. Judging by the entries at the Royal Horticultural Show the gladiolus has become the favourite garden flower. Many new varieties are on show, ranging in colour from pure white to deep purple. The winner of the first prize exhibited 12 new varieties, of which one was named Princess Elizabeth. The secretary of the Rcyal Horticultural Society predicts that in a few years the gladiolus will outclass all other flowers.
