ONE TREE HILL DISTRICT
MEETING OF ROAD BOARD WATER FOR MOUNT ROSKILL. The One Tree Hill Road Board met last evening, the chairman, Mr. R. G. Clark, presiding. The Mount Roskill Road Board wrote asking the the board to pay half the cost oi making the necessary connections to supply 2,000,000 gallons of water a month to the Mount Roskill district. The engineer estimated the cost at £BO. It was decided to reply that the board would make the connections provided the Mount Roskill Board paid the whole cost. The tender of Messrs. W. Stevenson and Son, for £243, was accepted for sewerage extension work in Kawau RoadIt was decided to ask the Mount Eden Borough Council to convene a Sleeting oi local bodies to discuss town-planning. A letter from the Labour Department asking if relief work could be found in the district was received, the chairman stating that the board would not take steps to raise a loan without the ratepayers' nction. It was decided to retain the services o! Mr. Treadgold, traffic inspector, for C& other year. The engineer reported that the concreting of the Great South Road on the Church Street-St. Ann's Bridge section was completed and was now "curing." Work on the section between Harp of Erin and Greenpark Road had progressed as satisfactorily ( as the weather allowed. Plans and specifications for file kerbing and channelling of Green Lane "and Pakenui Road were being prepared. The new portion of Campbell Crescent had been metalled and tar-sealed from St. Cuthbert's College to the centre of the new drive. The footpaths had been tarred to Manukau Road. ' The building inspector reported that building permits- involving £4274 wera issued during the past fortnight.
