OFFICERS FOR THE YEAR.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] YFAIHI, Tneedsy. After two unsuccessful attempts to get together sufficient members, the annual meeting of the Ohinemuri Mines and Batteries' Union has been held. The president', Mr. E. Dye, presided' over a fair attendance. The balance-sheet, which disclosed a satisfactory position, was adopted. A resolution supporting the bill introduced in Parliament by Mr. J. A. Les for the abolition "of compulsory military training, was passed. The election of officers resulted President, Mr. E. Dye; vice-president, Mr. J. R, Slevin; secretary and workmen's inspector, Mr. W. Bice; treasurer, Mr. E. Lyndon; trustees, Messrs. P. Murphy and H. A. Pipe; committee, Messrs. S. Elliot, W. Owens," A. H. Payne (representing Waikino), T. Barker, P. McCor.nell, N. W. Smith, D. Coutts, C. Moore, W. King, L. Williams, J. O'Shea, aad C. Carpenter (Waihi).
