STRUCK BY MOTOR-CAR.

man killed at archhill. CROSSING ROAD FOR TRAM. WIFE PRESENT AT TIME, A fatal motor accident occurred in Great North Road, Archhill, at half-past six last evening when Mr. George Andrew Benjamin Norton, aged 25, was struck by a motor-car and received injuries from which he died two hours later. Mr. Norton and his wife were crossing the road to board an inward-bound aamcar standing at the time-clock near the Hadlow Terrace intersection and the motor-car, which was driven by Mr. A. L. Hastedt, of 10, Fernleigh Avenue, Mount Roskill, was approaching from the city on its correct- side of the road. Mr. Norton was taken by the St. John Ambulance Brigade to the Auckland Hospital, where it was found he had sustained a fracture of the skull. Mr. Norton resided at 2, Hadlow Terrace. There is one child. INJURY TO YOUNG MAN. CONDITION NOT SERIOUS. Through being knocked down by a motor-car last evening, Mr. Arthur Everson, single, aged 20, grocer's assistant, residing in May Road, Mount Albert, sustained slight injuries to the head. Mr. Everson was admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from slight shock in addition to his injuries, but his condition is not regarded as serious.
