KEEP YOUR BEAUTY.
THE EYES. These arc your most precious possession, from a beauty point of view, as well as from all others, so guard them very carefully. There is little t ho, amateur beauty doctor dare do to the eyes. It is nothing'short of madness to use drops to brighten them. All that it is wise to do, when the eves feel tired and strained, or "gritty" after travelling, is to bathe with an eyecup containing boracic lotion. Dissolve a teaspoonful of boracic acid in 12oz. of hot water, and allow .u cool and bottle for use. When required, slightly warm, by half filling the eye-bath and adding hot water, lo apply, fit the cup to the eye, throw back the head, and open the eye ten or twelve times. Empty, rinse, and refill before applying to the other eye. Dark circles under the eyes may be caused by eye-strain, worry, lack of sleep, anaemia, or some other physical trouble, which only a doctor can diagnose and treat. Puffiness under the eyes is due to the same causes as dark circles, plus heart Or kidney trouble, so external application is useless, and you should consult I your common sense to divine the cause, land see a doctor if you are not feeling up to the mark otherwise.
The Eyebrows. Well-arched, dark eyebrows are rightly considered a great beauty. If the brows are thin and straggly, brushing them daily in the right direction with a small, soft brush moistened with bay rum will improve them. The Lips. Cracked lips may be avoided by the constant use of a little good lip salve. Handy little "sticks" of white or faintly pink salve are the best, as they can be carried about. Pale lips may be natural, or due to anaemia. In the latter case, health must be attended to before beauty can return. It is a very bad habit to bite or constantly moisten the lips, tending to crack them. The Teeth. Whatever else may have to go to the wall in the way of beauty culture, teeth must have proper care. So much has been written about the dangers of neglected teeth that there is no need to do more than remind you of the subject. Proper care means brushing night and morning, even if the sky falls. Use a smallish brush, with moderately hard bristles. Try to visit your dentist every six months to be "overhauled." It saves money and pain in the end !
