CURTAILMENT OF POWERS.

SCHOOL COMMITTEE'S PROTEST.

A protest against the suggested curtailment of the powers of education boards has been forwarded to the Minister of Education by the Ponsonby Schools Committee.

'"The suggested intention of the Government to interfere with and curtail the powers of education boards was discussed at length at a recent meeting of the committee," the letter states. *'lt was felt it was the bounden duty of the committee to voice a most emphatic PL°*f s against any such proposed action.
