GUY'S DEEPLY IN DEBT.
YEAR'S DEFICIT OF £24,000.
The heavy deficit which Guy's Hospital has to face was mentioned lately when the Lord and Lady Mayoress of London visited that institution. Mr. F. P. Whitbread, treasurer of the hospital, said that never had Guy's more needed help. The hospital last year euded with a deficit of £24,000 on maintenance alone, and was now deeply in debt. The patients were making extraordinary efforts to assist, but the cost of modern scientific treatment was far beyond their means.
