PROPOSAL AT HAMILTON. MODIFICATION OF PLAN. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. J HAMILTON, Thursday. The proposal to lev«l Garden Place Hill, opposite the Hamilton Courthouse, and to buy some of the surrounding' property for the purpose of forming m civic square was discussed by the Hamilton Borough Council in committee last evening. The work originally proposed was estimated to cost £BO,OOO, but it has now been reduced to £30,000. It is estimated that the square will produce £120,000 in revenue. The council decided to deal with the proposal at a special meeting.
