NEW FOOTBALL GROUND.

LEAGUE FIRST IN FIELD. The latest application of the "early bird" proverb * was exemplified by the Auckland Rugby League in seeking the City Council's permission last evening for the use of the ground in Pine Street at the rear of the Remuera school. This ground was "discovered". by representatives of sports bodies who were recently taken oq a tour of inspection as'the guests of the Parks Committee of the council. Previously none of the management committees of the football codes was aware of the possibilities .of the ground for competition games. It -was decided to grant the use of thje ground.
