WOMAN'S RIGHT TO DRIVE.

PLACE ON VIENNA CAB-RANK.

RESULT OF STRONG FIGHT. Mrs. Felicitas Fischer, after a fight lasting nearly a year, has taken up her place on a Vienna cah-rank as the first woman taxicab driver in Austria. Tho police refused to give her a licence when she first applied, some 12 months ago, and organised taxicab men said that on no account would she be allowed to take out a cab: Mrs. Fischer, undeterred by police hostility and professional jealousy, applied to the High Court for an order directing tho police to grant her a licence. She was granted the order despite the legal opposition of the taxicab men, and tho licence has been duly issued by the police.
