ONEHUNGA PIONEER.

NINETY-THIRD BIRTHDAY. A pioneer settler of Onehunga, Miss Smart, celebrated her 93rd birthday yesterday. Among the callers during the day to offer congratulations were the Mayor and Mayoress of Onehunga, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Coldicutt. Miss Smart enjoys good health. She spends some time daily in reading and devotes many hours to crochet work. As president of the ladieß* committee in charge of the Manukau District Court at the forthcoming Winter Exhibition, Mrs. Coldicutt was interested in Miss Smart's recent crochet work, and she obtained some specimens to include in the display. Miss Smart arrived in New ZealnnH with her parents 84 years ago, and has lived in Taranaki and Onehunga. At present she resides with relatives in Mount Smart Road.
