BIGAMY CHARGE FAILS.
ADVICE TO THE ACCUSED.
"GO HOME AND BE HAPPY."
LONDON,. June IS. Husband and wife, who had not seen one another for 18 years, met in Southampton Police Court yesterday, when the husband, John Carter', a resident of Southampton, was charged with bigamously marrying Fanny Kate Puddick in 1921.
Carter was married in Preston in 1897. His wife went to America in 1909, and he arranged to follow her, but did not do
Pcddick declared that she met Carter ia Southampton and they had six children before be "married" her. She added that she and Carter now hud ten cKildren. She had been very happy with Carter, who was "a wonderful father."
The Mayor, in dismissing the case, said that the Bench believed that no jury would convict. Addressing Carter, he added, "Go home and be as happy in the future as in the past with the mother of your ten children."
